Start with the topic closest to your question.
These answers explain the centre’s services and general Occupational Therapy process. They cannot determine whether a specific person needs therapy or replace assessment by a qualified professional.
When a concern is urgent, worsening or connected with a new medical problem, contact an appropriate medical professional rather than waiting for a routine therapy enquiry.

Getting Started
Understanding Occupational Therapy, consultations and the first appointment.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy helps people participate more independently and confidently in everyday activities. Depending on the person’s needs, this may include play, learning, self-care, work, home routines, movement, sensory participation or community activities.
Who can benefit from Occupational Therapy?
Children, adolescents and adults may benefit when physical, developmental, sensory, cognitive or neurological challenges affect daily participation. Suitability depends on the person’s goals, current abilities and the activities that are difficult or important to them.
Do I need a referral before contacting Blessings Therapy Centre?
You may contact the centre directly to discuss your concern. The team will advise whether an Occupational Therapy consultation is an appropriate starting point and whether medical information, a referral or input from another professional is needed.
What happens during the first consultation or assessment?
The therapist reviews the person’s strengths, concerns, routines, history and goals. The appointment may include discussion, observation and task-based assessment. The next step may be a therapy plan, home guidance, further assessment or another suitable referral.
Children & Families
Common questions about development, sensory needs and caregiver involvement.
How do I know whether my child may need Occupational Therapy?
Consider seeking guidance when difficulties with play, handwriting, attention, movement, sensory responses, dressing, feeding, toileting, sleep or school participation repeatedly affect the child or family. A consultation can help clarify whether direct assessment is useful.
Do you support children with autism or ADHD?
Occupational Therapy may support functional goals related to sensory regulation, motor skills, self-care, play, routines, attention and participation. Therapy does not cure autism or ADHD, and recommendations are based on each child’s individual strengths and needs.
Do parents or caregivers need to attend sessions?
Caregiver participation is often important because strategies are most useful when they connect with everyday routines. The level of involvement depends on the child’s age, goals, session format and the therapist’s recommendations.
Are home programmes or parent strategies provided?
Practical home guidance may be provided when appropriate. Recommendations are selected according to the child’s assessment, family priorities and the routines being addressed rather than using the same programme for every child.
Therapy & Session Formats
Information about adult rehabilitation, online therapy and session planning.
What adult rehabilitation services are available?
Adult Occupational Therapy may address daily living skills, hand and upper-limb function, neurological rehabilitation, stroke recovery, fatigue management, home safety, work participation and independence after illness, injury or surgery.
Do you offer online Occupational Therapy?
Yes. Online consultations and therapy are available when the goals and required assessment can be supported safely through video sessions. The therapist may recommend an in-clinic appointment when direct observation, hands-on assessment or clinic equipment is needed.
How long does a therapy session usually last?
Most consultations and therapy sessions are planned for approximately 45–60 minutes. The exact duration may vary according to the service, assessment needs, age, fatigue and individual goals.
How many sessions will be required?
There is no single number that applies to everyone. Frequency and duration depend on the person’s goals, assessment findings, progress, health needs, family participation and opportunities to practise skills between appointments.
Appointments & Practical Information
Preparing, booking and choosing the most suitable consultation location.
Where are the Bengaluru clinics located?
Blessings Therapy Centre provides in-person services from the Whitefield and Varthur clinic locations. The team will confirm the most suitable location and share current appointment directions when your booking is arranged.
What should I bring to the first appointment?
Bring relevant medical or school reports, previous assessments, a list of current concerns and examples of difficult routines. Adults may also bring discharge summaries, imaging reports or rehabilitation documents when available.
Can I discuss more than one concern during the consultation?
Yes. Share all relevant concerns, then identify the situations that currently have the greatest effect on daily life. The therapist may prioritise them across assessment, therapy or separate referrals.
How do I reschedule or cancel an appointment?
Contact the centre as early as possible by phone or WhatsApp. The team will explain the current rescheduling or cancellation arrangements connected with your appointment.
How are consultation fees confirmed?
Fees may vary by service and appointment type. The team will confirm the applicable fee and session format before finalising the booking.
